1926
The history of ROMRADIATOARE begins in 1926, the year in which the “Industria Sarmei S.A” group established a factory in Brasov named “Ancora Romana”, with the business activity of producing steel traction cables and later, aluminum conductor cables.
1961
Radiator production began in 1961, through the takeover of the radiator sector of the Brasov Tractor Plant (UTB), at which time the name “Ancora Romana” was changed to “Radiator and Cable Factory Brasov”. The factory began to supply radiators for the entire machine-building industry in Romania, equipping automobiles, trucks, buses, tractors, diesel locomotives, drilling installations or stationary units, a large part of which were destined for export.
1980
Over 7,000 tons of radiators annually
After the complete transfer of cable production in 1980 to the Bistrita Mechanical Enterprise, the company continued the assimilation of new types and technologies of radiators, reaching a production capacity of over 7,000 tons of radiators annually in 1989.
1991
ROMRADIATOARE S.A.
In 1991 the company changed its name to ROMRADIATOARE. Also during this period, the assimilation of radiators as spare parts for export began, for various car brands. The range of products and applications began to diversify after 1994, including, in addition to traditional products, air conditioning installations and heaters.
1995
ROMRADIATOARE S.A. is privatized
In 1995, ROMRADIATOARE was privatized through the sale of shares to employees. The year 1997 marked the initiation of a partnership with Renault Trucks, targeting the production of stamped parts for original equipment.
1996
Design and manufacture of specialized heat exchangers and complete cooling systems
In the following years, the company sought to adapt its product offering and business model to new market conditions (opening to external markets, emergence of foreign competitors, decline of the local machine-building industry). Capitalizing on the experience accumulated in design and development, as well as the skills of highly qualified technical personnel, ROMRADIATOARE shifted the focus from large-scale production of automotive radiators to the design and manufacture of specialized heat exchangers and complete cooling systems, for a much wider range of applications than in the past.
2008
SIF Transilvania S.A. becomes majority shareholder of ROMRADIATOARE S.A.
In 2008 SIF Transilvania S.A. (Transilvania Investments Alliance SA) became the majority shareholder of ROMRADIATOARE, supporting, through investments in technology, the new development directions of the company.
2009
Acquisition of integrated ERP company management system
Design is performed with Solid Works. Development of industrial coolers.
2010
Romradiatoare focuses its activity on specialized projects
Small and medium-sized projects, with applications in industrial processes, power generation, railway, maritime, extractive, defense industry as well as other commercial applications.
2012
Commissioning of HAAS machining center
Production of built-in brazed intercoolers, production of cooler plates with a length of 5m in copper tube/aluminum fin technology.
2013
Romradiatoare makes investments for a new production segment – heat exchange units
2014
Implementation of the investment project 'Green Business for increased competitiveness' begins
Acquisition and commissioning of 31 modern machines and equipment that increased product quality and environmental performance in production processes.
2015
Construction of a new production hall of approximately 1,300 sq m and modernization of existing ones begins
Starting in 2015 Romradiatoare supports the BlueStreamline team – The Racing Team of “Transilvania University of Brasov” through the execution of the heat exchanger that equips the BS14 single-seater.
2016
Training and beginning of Lean Manufacturing implementation

New thermal unit assembly line

Continuation of Lean Manufacturing implementation and increase of production capacity for the metal parts segment
